Mr Ruiz qualified in medicine from the University of Madrid, in 1989. His further training mainly took place in the UK, including a hip and knee fellowship at the Oxford Orthopaedic Centre and at a specialist orthopaedic centre in Edinburgh.
In 2001, Mr Ruiz was admitted to the GMC’s specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Posts since that time include serving as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the internationally renowned Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Areas of special interest for Mr Ruiz are hip, or knee replacement surgery, ligament reconstruction, including the anterior cruciate ligament and knee arthroscopy.
All involve aspects of our body which are key to movement and liable to injury, or conditions such as arthritis. The ability to return mobility to his patients and share the pleasure this brings are the reasons for Mr Ruiz being a surgeon.
His patients appreciate the individual care this ethos brings, along with the knowledge available from Mr Ruiz and the outcomes he provides.
