Sadia qualified as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2003, from University College London. In the two decades since, she has served her profession and those they suppport with exceptional skill.
Senior posts she has held include as a clinical lead in dysphagia, neuro-rehabilitation, brain injury and stroke. Alongside her work at our hospital, Sadia is now Consultant Clinical Lead at a private rehabilitation hospital within our group.
This focuses on treating people with complex neurological, or spinal cord injuries. Sadia’s role is to provide detailed cognitive, communication and swallow assessments, before creating a tailored approach to help them move forward.
The insight that Sadia shows into each patient’s needs applies to children as well as adults. She is part of the team which provides diagnosis for autism spectrum disorder, through direct and wider, social assessment.
A sensitive requirement, as is supporting people who have suffered stroke, brain, or spinal cord injuries. Encouraging them to rebuild lives, through medical care, assistive technology and the support of others.
Bringing the best medical and technical solutions matters, although Sadia’s belief in what can be achieved is equally inspiring to those she treats.
Research & Teaching
Sadia’s research and teaching interests include rehabilitation from complex swallow disorders, cognitive communication difficulties and related technology.
She is an active member of the Alternative Augmentative Communication clinical group and regularly present at conferences, promoting technology to support communication.
Along with working as an expert witness, Sadia has trained others to offer this support and published articles in dedicated journals.
