Shared Objectives
Alongside appreciating the medical position, your assessment is centred on listening to you. By understanding your life and your wishes, our team can work with you to make the effort you put in worthwhile.
They also identify new opportunities beyond the initial objectives, to help patients reach their full potential. This could be getting back to the life you were used to, or learning to enjoy and value alternatives.
Our patients can wish to return to work, or resume activities which are important to them. This may be possible, along with an outcome all our patients share, maximising their independence.
We have treated patients who arrived in a wheelchair and left with a natural walk. Others have benefited from therapy bringing better trunk and upper body strength, along with improved bone density, or cardiovascular health.
Combined Methodology
Our physiotherapists are skilled at supporting exercise on a bench, or the gym floor. These are often used, in coordination with technology designed to work to the same ends:
-
Bionic Movement
The exoskeletons you see in the video can allow you to walk through paralysis, building strength, confidence and a road to achieving more.
-
The Power Of Water
Our on site hydrotherapy pool creates freedom of movement in a different way, along with an opportunity to gain strength without risk.
-
Escaping Gravity
An anti-gravity machine is a further option to begin to move again, imagine how much easier this is when your body weight is reduced by 80%.
Other specialist technology is available, to relearn hand movement, or stimulate cognitive aspects relating to mobility. Part of facilities at the Royal Bucks which come together to support our patients in changing their lives..
Moving Forwards
Our experienced physiotherapists are amongst the best and know how to make the most of technology. Useful ingredients for success but our patients belief matters more.
The positive ethos our rehabilitation centre was founded on is there to encourage self belief, to show that life can begin again.
If a session does not go as intended, or a particular activity is proving difficult, much can still be learned. Contributing to progress which is measurable and enjoyable, as solutions are found and strength returns.
Physiotherapy is about restoring movement to the body, although this is most effective if you remember that body belongs to a person.
